Lately it seems as if everyone is on a health kick. Which is amazing however, some of the things people do to loose weight sometimes is almost scary.
I believe that, there is no miracle weight loss solution. If you want to be in shape, you have to work for it. And remember all those pills promising "weight loss" may be working for you now but when all is said and done and you stop taking those pills, the pounds you lost while taking them can come back.. even double.
I do believe however there is natural things that can be taken to help aid in weight loss, such as Flax Seed. Not only is Flax Seed good for weight it holds so many other benefits.
Benefits of Flax Seed
- Fiber. An ounce of Flax Seed holds 32% of the USDA's daily intake. Fiber is a natural way to regulate bowel movements. While taking Fiber, it is recommended to take at least 8 ounces of water per day.. why? Because believe it or not if you don't, it can lead to constipation.
- Omega 3 essential fatty acids. This is shown to be heart-healthy (Reduces risk of Heart Disease) and be a good inflammatory reducer. Flax Seed holds 1.8 grams of Omega 3. And when taking Flax Oil reduces inflammatory by 30%.
- High in Lignans. It contains 800 times the amount than any other plant food. What is Lignan?? It is known to be a natural Cancer-protective compound.
- Helps Shake Atypical Depression (The most common form of Depression.)
- Decreases the risk of Alzheimer's.
- Helps Boost Immune System.
For the Ladies
- Helps decrease the symptoms of Menopause.
- Regulates Menstrual Cycles.
- Decreases Risk of Breast Cancer
For the Fellas
- Between the ages of 35-65 experience AMS (Aging Male Syndrome.) The Lignans in Flax Seed have been linked to decrease the aging process.
- Helps reduce the risk of Prostate Cancer.
Given all those benefits you cannot go wrong adding Flax Seed into your diet. The recommended daily amount is any where from 2-4Tbs. Your body cannot absorb the benefits from Flax Seed if it's eaten whole, try taking eating it mulled(ground) or in an oil form. (It is known to be best to eat mulled over oil.)
Try adding it in your smoothies, baking, adding to your coffee grounds, sprinkling on top of fruits and yogurts. There are so many ways to add to add Flax Seed into your diet since is has no taste. I use Hodgson Mill -Milled Flax Seed which cost about 4.99. You can find this is the baking goods aisle at the grocery department. Thus way it comes pre ground making it easier for me to use it.
